Flying Dog’s April Fool
The only drink related April Fools I ran across this year was Flying Dog’s announcement that they are releasing a series of extremely-low-alcohol beers.
The four new styles include:
- Hot Dog Habanero Ginger Ale - 0.9% ABV, 2 IBU
- Unicorn Dog Sparkling Barley Wine-style Ale - 1.9% ABV, 4 IBU
- Raging Bitch Birch Beer - 1.3% ABV, 6 IBU
- Herberos Belgian-style Root Beer Lager- 1.59% ABV, 7 IBU
Yuck.

In related stupidity: When in Denver last month, I foolishly went looking for the Flying Dog Brewery. It popped up on my GPS and I walked a mile or so to get there only to discover they moved to Maryland and completly shut down the Denver operation back in early 2008.
Flying Dog: You fooled me once, shame on me. Fool me twice… you’re not going to fool me again.
